Art has the ability to narrate a story through the use of form, color, and lighting. These interesting narratives can be from figures, to landscapes, and even the combination of both. This is because everything has a story to it, and art helps communicate these stories. What it takes to see these stories is for someone to try to explain and share them. How someone can do this can vary in a multitude of ways, but visual art has the ability to explore this more thoroughly. I am a visual artist whose work tries to show these interesting narratives through the use of color, form, and lighting. My work uses a variety of different narratives that are realistic, to those that are more fictional. However, the subject of my narratives is informed by my personal experiences. These experiences that I portray touch on themes of trauma, love, sadness, and happiness. To visually explain this, I do so by experimenting with a variety of different mediums and materials such as: Paintings, drawings, prints; oil paint, charcoal, ink. I have found that each medium and material is able to pull a different narrative. This is why I incorporate a wide variety of techniques and mediums within my work either by themselves, or sometimes combined. My work elucidates on my unique experience in life and trying to understand it and I use the rules/elements of visual art as a means to share it.
